Loan signing guide
What to expect at a loan-signing appointment.
Loan packages differ, but a well-coordinated mobile appointment follows the same reassuring path: clear details, a confirmed time, and a prepared return plan.
Appointment guidance from California Local Notary Service. For official requirements, consult the California Secretary of State notary handbook.
1. Before the appointment
The title, escrow, lender, or signing service should provide the signing window, borrower contact details, document-delivery method, print instructions, scanback instructions, and return-label or carrier instructions.
2. At the signing
The notary follows the assignment instructions, performs the requested notarial acts, and keeps the appointment moving calmly. Questions about loan terms, legal effect, or a document’s contents go to the lender, title team, escrow officer, or other responsible professional.
3. After the signing
The confirmed return instructions matter. We handle the agreed scanbacks, carrier handoff, or other return logistics that were included in the accepted assignment.
